Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling profession in Italy. The first time she acted was in the 1996 TV production Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get an appearance for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was extremely intense. It was difficult for her to make the transition between modeling and acting because the models werent usually believed to be actors and tended to be granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did her best to get noticed and she eventually landed larger roles beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In the course of a couple of years Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. Amy was in the 2005 romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she had been searching for for more than 10 years when her film called Just Friends came out. She did some big films within the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she had a part in a series of recurring roles on The Shameless series.
