Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin has made her acting debut playing Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making the actress second to win an award within Oscar history. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th July 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian actress, and New Zealander who, as a kid won the Academy Award in 1993 for the most outstanding support actress. The actress played the fierce daughter of Holly Hunter's The Piano character. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist, who in the middle of the 19th century makes her way to New Zealand for an arranged marriage after responding to an audition for open casting when she was just nine years older and had no prior experience in acting. When she was in her teens, the actress was able to move to the United States. Paquin performed the leading role in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre at the time she was only a child. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. She also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa In Almost Famous (2000).
